NEC cutting 10,000 jobs after forecasting $1.3 billion annual loss

More bad news as NEC has just announced that it will be cutting 10,000 jobs after forecasting a $1.3 billion annual loss for 2011. 7,000 of these jobs will be from Japan while the rest will be from various different places. All of these job losses will be in the phone department, but don't worry as the company reportedly had 115,840 employees in March so their phone section isn't completely doomed. Well if the various projects that NEC is working on with Samsung, Panasonic, and Fujitsu work out these 10,000 jobs may be rehired eventually one day.
